I know, I'm a geek. BUT, if you're anything like me, you take your media collection seriously. MediaMan is a freeware program that helps you organize and catalog your ENTIRE media collection. From DVDs to CDs to Books, to Software, it sorts them all.

Thanks to a shared technology with Amazon.com, the internet superstore that sells EVERYTHING, they take images and information from Amazon, and inserts it into the program. It then places it neatly on a virtual bookshelf, as you'll see below.

If you have a webcam, you can even scan in the barcodes from the packaging, and it'll look up the item for you!

Spam Killer?

Vardan Kushnir, notorious for sending spam to each and every citizen of Russia who appeared to have an e-mail, was found dead in his Moscow apartment on Sunday, Interfax reported Monday. He died after suffering repeated blows to the head.

I think whoever did this took the meaning of Spam Killer or Spam Assassin a little too literally. Either way, it'll probably make life a little easier for us.

Coming or Going?

Watching The Price Is Right has been one of my favorite "sick-day" activities since I was a kid. The show has been on for 30+ years, and shows no signs of slowing down.

There's a new (well, recently new) "game" on the show called "Coming Or Going." Here are the rules from the official website:

COMING OR GOING
Played for a nice prize. The game starts on a turntable and shows the contestant what they can win. Then we come back to Bob and the game "Coming or Going." It holds a number that can reveal two different 4 digit prices, depending on which way it is tipped. Bob asks if the contestant is "coming" or "going." He will show that if they are "coming" (tips board) the numbers slide back to reveal one price, and if they're "going" (tips board) the numbers slide back to reveal a different order and price. Then he will reset the game board and reduce the numbers back to one number. The contestant tells us if he is "coming" or "going" and moves the tip-table game board in the proper direction to creat the price of the prize. Then it is confirmed if it is a win or loss.

Mitch Hedberg was my absolute favorite comedian. His timing and offbeat humor (which I often compared to Stephen Wright, on acid), was not only highly quotable ("I rarely drive steamboats, Dad"), but genius at the same time.

The Ostrich has landed!

There's a morning show down here in South Florida featuring Paul Castronovo and "Young" Ron Brewer on Big105.9 FM. Also among their crew are their show's Executive Producer, Tommy Owen (a.k.a. Big Country) and the Producer/Torture Victim, Rob Jenners.

So, recently in the news, a local airplane pilot had to make an emergency landing on a busy highway. This seemed to be the perfect time to send Jenners (now dubbed "Ostrich") into the air, piloting the "John Denver 1!" Remember Jon Denver? He wrote "Leaving On A Jet Plane," and ironically died in a helicopter crash? Yeah... THAT Jon Denver... "Thank God I'm a country boy!"

Anyways, Jenners had to, per Paul & Ron's instructions, LAND the plane.

Mind you, Jenners has NEVER flown a plane, and has no training of any kind...
